Christian Psychic

People claiming to have psychic abilities have been recognized in just about ever culture, religion, race, gender, and age. When it comes to having the "gift," what a person’s religious orientation is doesn’t seem to have any influence. A person who is psychic could be Christian, just as much as he could be Jewish, Muslim, or Atheist. People who have psychic abilities rarely claim to have chosen them.

Instead, most people who have some degree of paranormal intuitions either felt that they were born with the abilities, or that some traumatic event unexpectedly triggered the manifestation of the psychic gift. People have tried, through research and experimentation, to develop psychic abilities on their own. However, there are very few confirmed cases of people being able teach themselves how to perform supernatural feats of any kind.

Why Many Believe That Psychics Can’t Also Be Christian

Most Christians believe that only God, or one of his helpers, can have powers normally attributed to psychics such as foreseeing future events, telepathy, reading another person’s thoughts, psychokenesis, and teleportation, to name a few. They believe that any human claiming to have any of these, or other, psychic powers are either lying or are in union with Satan or some other evil force. For them, there is no doubt to the question of whether or not there are Christian psychics. There answer is a loud and resounding, "No!" But when pressed to better explain the basis behind their belief, very few can give specific or solid reasons.

They simply state that "the Bible says that only God can have psychic abilities," although they can never point out exactly which passage makes the reference. Although they are firm and steadfast in their beliefs, there inability to support those beliefs with written Christian literary facts makes them seem to be just expressing what they think Christians should say, as opposed to something that they have questioned in the past and found answers to confirm those questions.

Is It So Hard To Believe That A Christian Could Have Psychic Abilities?

Another question that should be asked first is, "what makes a person a Christian?" Is it simply someone that believes in God and Jesus Christ? Or is it rather someone that believes that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, that he died for our sins, that he rose from the dead, and took our sins with him? Or is a Christian someone that has been "saved" and has given himself over to Christ? How a person answers these questions will dictate whether or not that person believes a Christian could also be psychic.

Truth be told, a person fulfilling the characteristics of any of these questions could still claim to have some amount of psychic ability. Even men and women "of the cloth" like preachers, ministers, bishops, and Popes, have taken actions that many would term "supernatural," even if they or anyone else have not called it "psychic" phenomenon.

Was Jesus A Psychic?

Jesus of Nazareth was an incredibly special human being, regardless of anyone’s belief that he was the direct Son of God. Jesus walked on water, transformed one material item into a completely different one, could read a person’s thoughts and know that person’s life history, instantly cure a person’s sickness with a touch, and even bring a person back to life. Are these not psychic and supernatural abilities? And if we are made in the image of God, why wouldn’t this also include some abilities that are God-like? The fact of the matter is that no one, no human being at least, can convincingly answer any of these questions. Some would say that it was blasphemous to even make the suggestion.

The Greatest Psychic Ever Known Was A Christian

Many people believe that the greatest person deemed to be psychic was Edgar Cayce. A devout Christian his entire life, Edgar Cayce lived from 1877 to 1945. Although a humble man not wanting to get more attention to his "gift" that he truly believed was given to him by God to help his fellow man, he knew that he had to reach beyond his life in order to change the lives of those around him. On a daily basis for decades, he would lay on his couch, get himself into a trance-like state, and then proceed to answer all types of questions that were asked to him. Although Cayce acknowledged his psychic ability, he was constantly in conflict about being chosen to have his "gift." He also constantly verbalized the viewpoint that all men and women should follow Christhood, and was a Sunday School teacher himself for many years.

Do We All Have Psychic Abilities Hidden Inside Of Us?

The human mind, especially over the last 100 years, has accomplished so many incredibly remarkable feats. Splitting the atom. The immense power of the internet and computer technology. The ability to cure hundreds of diseases. With that being said, many scientists believe that humans, as a whole, have only tapped into a fraction of the potential held by the brain.

Some say that only 10% of the brain’s capacity gets used. Others aren’t that positive, instead believe the number to be closer to 1% or 1/10th of one percent. Can psychic abilities be hidden somewhere in the brain, waiting to be discovered? Have those individuals, with some Christians included, that do claim to have psychic abilities, somehow learned how to utilize those buried supernatural abilities? The reality is that researchers still don’t know the total capacity and possibilities that are contained in the human brain, with the limited knowledge that humans have at this point in time.

Modern Christian Psychics

So can there be Christian psychics in modern times? Of course there can. Christian psychics today have similar views about it as Edgar Cayce did: that psychic abilities were a gift from God that needed to be used to help the lives of those around them. Christian psychics do not believe that they are God-like or that they are somewhat superior to everyone else. They see their "gift" in the same sense as someone does about his skills at art, or medicine, or athletic prowess.

Most are very humble by being chosen to use these gifts, and most are even reluctant to or afraid to come forth with the true extent of their abilities. They know how people in general will view them, especially other Christians like them. Christian psychics oftentimes would chose not to have the gift if they could, preferring to instead live out a "normal" life like everyone else.

Can Christian Psychics Be Trusted?

The true answer to that question is that a person’s religion should not automatically determine whether or not he should be trusted. Every human being is unique, and simply because a person is Christian should automatically mean that he should or shouldn’t be trusted. Is it possible for a Christian psychic to be deceptive? Yes, however, it is just as likely for a Christian banker, Christian teacher, Christian doctor, or any other Christian to be deceptive. People, as a whole, are basically honest and compassionate people that only want to see the good in others and other’s situations. This holds true for Christian psychics.

Should A Person Go See A Christian Psychic?

For the most part, a person who wants to see a psychic should see one that he has the most belief in, regardless of the religious preference of the psychic. That being the case, many Christians may actually feel more comfortable going to see a Christian psychic because there will already be that common ground between them. If a person is a Christian, he or she will have the same love of Christ as another Christian of a different calling or occupation. Christian psychics don’t claim to be Christ. In fact, most psychics tend to be overwhelmingly humble, including the most well-known Christian psychic Edgar Cayce.

A person interested in seeing a Christian psychic should not let the fact that the psychic is Christian be a deciding factor on whether or not to seek out their guidance. Christians may discover that the fact that the psychic is Christian only helped to make the entire experience more comforting and moving. Psychics come from all walks of life, including those that follow Christ.

People who are considering using a psychic should spend more time evaluating the benefits that others have stated they have gotten from the psychic’s input. How others, that have actually worked with the psychic, expressed what benefits they got from the experience, hold more weight than whether or not the psychic was Christian.

This is a very interesting topic – thanks for sharing. As a Christian, I was conflicted with this issue at one point. The Bible is clear as to God’s position on the use of psychic abilities (Lev 19:31; Lev. 20:6; Isaiah 8:19-20, many many verses and stories on this topic in the Bible). I am sure you have probably heard them all — I did not come to bible bash but to encourage anyone who is a “sensitive” to pray to God for revelation. My question to God was: How can a psychic work for the devil yet assist in cases of demonic oppression? So confused on this issue – I prayed to the Holy Spirit to teach me on this matter.

So be careful what you ask for…

One night I had a dream in which I saw a foggy portal/doorway — I entered it. The doorway disappeared behind me. I had entered a dark place — a place of death. As I walked through the rooms of this place — there were rotting babies and limbs of people — sounds of moanings echoed throughout. As I tiptoed my way, I felt a dark presence in this place who knew I was there. It began to pursue me – I began to run looking for a way out.

I ran to a door – it resembled the doors of the safe to the national reserve — no possible way I could open that door or move its enormous locks. As I approached it, I realized it was open enough that I could squeeze through. I recall 3 doors representing 3 realms. In between the doors — I could see the spirits lining up to be with whomever was inside (like a brothel). When I ran out of the third door — I ran into a dead forest. The dark entity was not able to leave the 3rd door but instead he whistled and sent big black dogs after me. They were HUGE and extemely fast. As I turned to look in front of me – a man in white appeared to me with his hand extended to me. Time stood still.

When I put my hand in his hand, I could hear the whistle for the dogs to go back. He took me to a place full of light where I could see and hear women praying, their children playing. All these women were missing limbs (an arm, a leg, a hand). I knew these were the women rescued from the realm I just left.

The man showed me an engagement/wedding ring on my finger. A sudden concern for my children came over me — two small children were holding on to my legs but more were missing. I asked the man — where are the others – he showed me wedding bands on the ground and let me know the remainder of the children were stuck in that other realm. I began to weep.

I woke up to the sound of a man’s voice say: “Thou shall not prostitute thyself”.

I share this dream respectfully – not to criticize anyone’s beliefs – let him who has ears hear.

God bless you and thank you for the opportunity to share.

My grandmother on my fathers side was very superstious-Sence I was born with the shroud on a dark stormy day I think she thought I was a witch- Sense I was born so close Halloween- It was said I was born on October 16. 1939- but when `I got my birth certificate it stated I was born on October 30th-My mother objected to all that nonsense- and My grandmother used to say ” stuff like- don.t look at me with those dark eyes you little devil you. I have always been A devout Christian. I go to church every Sunday and have prayed all my life-Some times i wonder who I am?

YOU are who YOU are IN GOD. your birthdate does not reflect any evil. everyday can be Blessed–YOU were born and that in itself is a blessing.
your mother did the right thing in not going along with your grandmother–she had probably heard these kinds of things all of her life and had to see for herself what was REAL and true and what was NOT. keep praying and enjoying your spiritual relationship with God–what else really matters?

i really liked this article. i was an atheist until the age of 17. that summer–i found out that God was real and God was there for me and Loved me. and I made a firm commitment to Jesus Christ. i am now 66. all of my life–starting when i was just a little toddler–i would say things to my Mom and then they would happen. it was odd to her that i did this. as i got older more things happened–i saw and heard things other people did not see nor hear.

one day i was diagnosed Schizophrenic–that was about 23 yrs ago. a few years later, i found myself telling people where they could find lost things–dogs and people–and then more and more psychic kinds of abilities started getting very strong in my mind–anything i could think of to do–MY mind could do. i did a lot of work–all in the area of Psychic. it was fantastic to help so many people–and instead of getting them dependant on me–i brought them to the Cross of Christ–i called it “fishing for Jesus”–i would count the “fishes” i brought to him every week! i loved it. but so many fellow Christians told me that what i was doing was against God. i asked them “how many Fishes did you bring to Jesus this week? this month? this year?” how can this work be against GOD–when all the info i get comes from HIM
    –God is Truth
–satan is a liar and a lie.
we who love Jesus Christ and happen to have more mental gifts then others do, –have taken a “bad rap’ for too long….and i do not charge any money–but i do not refuse donations when offered. why? God doesnt want me to–i only obey Him. thank you for this article–it made me feel stronger–i NEEDED it.

    sincerely, Rev. Karina

    • I’m so glad you liked it Karina. I tell people the same thing, how can Psychics be evil if God himself gave them their gifts? It just doesn’t make sense.

  4. Rev. Karina

    HI again.
its the first of June 2013. last week My Lord, “My Boss”, told me to do something i had not done in a long time–“Make a Christian Psychic listing on ebay again”.
my ministry has been focused so much on Healing that there was no room for ebay “5questions, answered” type psychic listing. and ebay has changed a lot since the last time i had done that–several years ago. I found that other psychics had listed under the heading of ” specialty Services”–and there was only a few. hardly any competition.
I made my first one–and it was purchased right away and iam currently working on helping the buyer in every area of their life. I had been prepared for a person asking me to pray for a healing of Cancer (my specialty)–and this first person did not request that–so i made a second listing right away–and that one ends tonight and has 2 bids currently–as well as 82 views and 7 watchers. I am surprised at all this attention! it used to be that when i made the listing as a CHRISTIAN–no one would care to purchase my listing or put me to work. (except for now and then)
i checked the other psychic listings and many of them are for those with NON-religious beliefs–and they are getting interest as well–but i think iam getting most of it.
i then checked the completed listings for psychic and i saw where in the last month almost every psychic listing had been purchased–and only a few different psychics are listing on ebay. not the hundreds of different psychics like in years past. i realize that a lot of this is because ebay is discouraging psychic listings and many were deleted after being made. but it makes it JUST perfect timing for ME! God has made it plain that this gift he let me “borrow” is for the benefit of others–and to bring people to Jesus christ. this gift is not for me. many times people will say “why didnt you know that this would happen? you are a psychic–right?”
thats when i have to tell them that–
“this gift is not there for me–when i need to know something ahead of time–I do not!
I must have faith in God for my future and faith that nothing will go wrong in my life that God doesnt know about or how to handle” ha ha…some psychic I am??!!!
if you want to see what my listing is like and the photos i am using–go to ebay and type in— Rev. Karina–and my listing (if i have one when you are looking) will show up.
i hope you see it and let me know too–ok?
    love and warm hugs2U, Karina
ps–it might show up even when there is no current listing if you type in my name in Google–and add “ebay” or “psychic” thats how i found YOU again.
again, thank you for this article–you made me feel good about myself–something a lot of other Christians do not seem to care to do.

    • Unfortunately eBay doesn’t allow you to advertise readings any longer. I’m sure you can list one but its against their Terms of Service and as a result it’s illegal. I found only a handful of good Psychics on eBay. Most of them moved to the Psychic services when ebay gave them the boot. Best of luck Karina, I wish you well in your endevours!

I have known that Christians who see the future with trances, visions, hear voices etc… Have a title. There are examples that are in the Bible they are called Prophets; Jeremiah, Elisha, Elijah, Samuel, Jesus, Peter….Cornelius, Anna, and Simeon….Etc…

They knew things without having access to see or hear just in a natural way- They realized and found those things to be true through revelation….

Balaam heard his donkey talking to him and an Angel with a drawn sword appeared to him…. All of these people where on a journey to help or deliver a message or to know something that could alter the fate of Nations, people or themselves… They were messengers for God and wanted to help God do his will or were chosen to do so…by God. Jonah didn’t get excited when God asked him to be his Prophet to Nineveh and Elijah struggled as well as Jeremiah with responsibility of carrying heavy words and weighty messages to those whom God had sent them to….Fearing both God if they didn’t and humans who would hate them for speaking truth….

Today there are people who still get slighted for being the voice of truth and intimidated for going against the grain to follow their convictions despite what people would say, and there are still messengers…who still will…

Absolutely love these articles and all speak such truth.

    Thank you all

I have been studying this subject for many years and have learned so much. On the other hand I realize I know so little.
My grandmother was a psychic in a sense. Her own daughters called her a freak. Strangely the same gift was given to me and my daughters think the same about me. But looking at it from their side I would say the same thing.
However being born again and a Christian scholar I wanted to find out more about the subject. But the more I got into it the darker the paths had become.
For you see it is a power of which demons can take the reins from you and distort it. So much so that I became intrigued of the ghosts who walk this earth only to find those ghosts were not of the people who had died and remained on earth but actually demons who were fabricating the dead to convince us that its not so bad on the other side.
Does this sound freakish to you? Well it is to me also. I’ve been wanting to write a book on this subject called “The psychology of demons”. But having interviewed demons personally along with encounters with angels and Jesus has made me wonder am I over my head.
But just recently I’ve discovered some things unusual. Subjects like divine intervention, mind healing, foretelling future events. (For instance I have been able to determine the sex of all 3 of my grandchildren correctly long before they were born including my first child a year before her birth). I have seen spirits and able to tell if they were of the devil or Godly. The list of all these events seems endless but so interesting.
However I have questioned if I should come out of the closet? My wife and the preachers I have talked to all oppose my writing a book on this subject. But now that I know their is a godly side to psychic abilities I begin to see the good that can come from channeling the good side of psychics. My wife is a great example of the kind of research I would like to get into. She is a people person (unlike me) but so many times we have been able to read each other’s minds. She is pure of heart and easy to read since her spirit interacts with mine. The perfect subject with fantastic eye opening results!
In my study of psychics most of them are in it for the money. Having met all kinds of psychics I am convinced it can be for real. But how much does it benefit the individual or society as a whole? That depends on the psychic. The subject is revealing to the extent of being horrifying to blessed. Let me explain …

  8. Andrew Pollner

I appreciate and love the psychics that guided me on my life journey. I won’t say their names. I wouldn’t be alive if it weren’t for them. However I must face my Pastor who is a Methodist and tell her I went to see psychics in my life. I go to a place called the Christian Health Care Center and I picked them out because they are Christian. Now my medical doctor doesn’t want to help me because he doesn’t believe in Psychics. My doctor thinks I am to religious because I emailed my parents a Christian prayer who are Jewish. If you can help me out without giving away any identities and offer advice. My email isn’t secure.

    • Hi Andrew. Most church’s won’t understand why you go to Psychics, they may even judge you harshly for it. They fear what they don’t understand, there is nothing evil or satanic about Psychics however. To them I would quote Matthew 7:1-2 which says “”Do not judge so that you will not be judged. For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you.” I’m almost certain a doctor can’t refuse treatment based on your religious/spiritual views either, it certainly violates the Hippocratic oath and probably a few federal laws as well. I would report him to the board of medicine in your state and find another Doctor. Anyone who lets his personal opinions and beliefs get in the way of treating his patients is deplorable and more than likely a terrible Doctor to begin with. Andrew, I hope you find the strength and courage to continue visiting the Psychics that have guided you so well this far, despite the trouble it may have created in your life.
