Hingham, MA- The property on Whiting Street that used to belong to two psychics who were arrested for scamming customers, has now been put up for rent.

The building used to be known as “Crystal’s Spritial Reader” but the sign that advertised the property as being a place for psychic readings, as well as everything else inside of the building has been removed and is available for lease.

Teresa Nicholas and Tiffany Crystal Smith- her accomplice- were arrested in April for scamming a 69-year-old woman from Pembroke, MA. They scammed the woman out of more than $7,000 during a psychic reading that took place in this building. Since the arrest, more victims have come forward to police stating that these two women have scammed them also.

According to the police, Smith (who goes by the psychic name “Sofie”) told the woman that her daughter had a curse on her, which would cause her to commit suicide if she didn’t pay her $16,000. The police report states that Smith dropped a bag and red liquid spilled out while performing the psychic reading and she told the woman that this represented her daughter’s blood. She tried to convince the woman to pay her so that she could remove the curse and at one point even asked the woman “Isn’t your daughter worth more than $16,000?” in hopes that this would persuade the woman into going forth with the payment.

Smith successfully scammed the woman out of an antique opal ring valued at $500, as well as two checks that totaled $7,385 that the woman gave to her as part of the payment. According to police, Smith told the woman that in order to pay the additional $8,115, she should sell personal items, borrow money from friends and family, or charge the remainder onto a credit card.

Nicholas has been charged with two counts of larceny over $250 and conspiracy, one count of larceny over $250 by false pretenses, and one count of larceny over $250 from a person over 65 and conspiracy.
