Jason Sams, Psychic Reverend Found Guilty Of Sexual Battery

Logan, OH. – Psychic Reverend Jason Sams pleaded guilty in November of 2012 to an incident that happened eight months prior. They charged the 33-year-old with one count of sexual battery for sexually abusing a young boy aged 13. The incident occurred in Hocking Hills, at a cabin Sams rented. In exchange for pleading guilty to a felony in the third degree, a charge of “endangering children” was dropped.

There is a pre-sentence investigation, which Hocking County Common Pleas Court Judge John Wallace requested. After the findings of this investigation come to light, Sam’s sentencing will begin for his crime. Bill Archer is the Hocking County Assistant Prosecutor in the case, and he advocates for the judge to sentence Sams to three years in prison. He also wants him to be required to register as a Tier 3 sex offender upon his release.

The maximum time Sams could serve in prison for the sexual battery charge is five years, and there would also be a maximum fine of $10,000. In March 2012, a witness contacted the authorities about suspicious behavior he had witnessed. He stated that he heard anguished cries from the cabin where Sams and a young boy were staying. He also told them that he saw him kissing the young boy.

The witness entered the cabin they were staying at after their departure and noticed that the bedsheets were stained, and he also found eight used condoms in the room. When shown a photo of Sams, the witness positively identified him. This witness statement led to an investigation by authorities. Hocking County Sheriff’s Office, Ashtabula County Sheriff’s Office, and Attorney General for the Crimes Against Children Unit Mike DeWine assisted. The investigation took several months to complete.

The Investigation Led To An Arrest

They completed the investigation in September and armed with the information they had discovered about him, they searched Sam’s house and removed several boxes of evidence. The used condoms taken from the cabin after the witness notified authorities of Sams’s actions returned positive for the DNA of both Sams and the young boy. Before Sams was discovered and arrested, he worked as a reverend. He was also a fifth-generation psychic. He used to teach mediumship courses at The Conscious Nest, located in Cleveland.

Sams also led a ghost-hunting group at The Conscious Nest. After Sams pleaded guilty, his former employers at The Conscious Nest immediately erased all mentions of Sams and his employment with them, no longer wanting to be associated with him in any way. Aside from that, Sams also owned a business in North Kingsville- a computer repair business named Jason Sams Computer Services. According to the Hocking County Sheriff’s Office, Sams claimed to have predicted his arrest.
