Centennial Museum had a busy weekend last week thanks to the two-day Psychic Workshop that was held there and was sold out. Participants were taught how to physically, spiritually, and emotionally get in touch with themselves by ‘Rescue Mediums’ co-host Jackie Dennison and Steve Furlong, a teacher at ‘Feathers Academy’ in England. Participants were also taught how to encompass and unearth psychic abilities of their own.

Participants from Toronto, Brampton, Simcoe County, and even further left the workshop with certificates when the workshop was over. It is estimated that the number of participants was about thirty-three. One participant named Sharon Clarke actually had her bar, ‘The Arlington’, featured on an episode of Rescue Mediums, which is how she met Dennison. She describes the workshop as being an experience that has changed her life.

Clarke (who is a tarot card reader herself) had this to say about it, “we learned there were several spirits there and the research about the building that we got to keep after was valuable information. The investigation was amazing for us and now this workshop has been very validating. For me the weekend has been all about practicing with other people. If you trust and follow you can learn so much about yourself. I was very happy with the workshop.”

Participants were taught by Dennison and Furlong how to open and protect their chakras, perform guided and grounded meditations, connect with spirit guides, work with different energies, and identify peoples’ auras. On Saturday from 8:00 pm to 12:00 am there was even a ‘Paranormal Investigation’, which required the class attendees to split up into several groups and explore different parts of the museum, attempting to make contact with Mr. Charles Beck, the museum house spirit.

Centennial Museum was featured on the very first episode of Rescue Mediums in 2011, and Dennison feels that during the workshop, the ambiance of the location was intensified. This is the second year that the workshop was held in this location, and much like this year, it was a big success.

“The museum is the perfect place to hold this workshop, as its spirited former owner still makes his presence felt. The aim of our workshop is to enlighten individuals who are interested in psychic development and how to use the psychic tool kit,” Dennison said.

Mastering the art of meditation was a major part of the workshop. Meditation is believed to play a key role in developing psychic abilities and enabling participants to learn how to connect with spirit guides. The workshop taught the attendees about different forms of meditation.

“Sharing the knowledge of the psychic took kit will allow students the opportunity to develop their sixth sense, helping to bring about a better understanding of their own psychic ability and the spirit world,” says Dennison.

The participants of the workshop all had personal motives for attending, for example, some stated that they wanted to satisfy a curiosity that they had been having, or wanting to learn how to meditate, and even just wanting to expand their knowledge of the paranormal. All felt that they had gained a wealth of knowledge of themselves and learned a lot about the people around them.

One participant, Malachi Sybex, states to be a very big fan of Dennison’s show and says that he decided to attend the workshop when he learned of Dennison’s participation in it.

“I watch the show and had a friend who took the week long workshop in the past so we wanted to take this one- it’s been awesome”, he says. He also states that he has an uncanny ability of finding lucky four leaf clovers without actually trying to do so, it is almost as if they find him.

“I found my first four leaf clover three years ago and have found hundreds of them since. I just look down and see something and it’s a four leaf clover. At first I believe it was my father who had passed away showing me but now, I just see them,” he says.

Amazingly, he says that he once found ten four leaf clovers at one time- they seem to just jump out at him for some reason.

He says, “they show me where they are and it’s just a matter of knowing the pattern and perception- they look different from the others. Under certain circumstances, some people believe it is bad luck to find a four leaf clover while others think it is good luck. The biggest one yet I have found was 4 inches across.”

One activity that the participants found very interesting was the photographing of auras, which are believed to depict peoples’ energy, these energies can then be used for healing amongst other uses. During this lesson, which took place on Sunday, participants got their picture taken and then the pictures were examined to see what the color of their auras is. They were taught what the colors represented and how they helped describe what their personality type is. After they discovered their own auras, they were also taught how to read other peoples’ auras. Dennison and Furlong also had the students draw a picture of themselves using different colors, which they then incorporated into the lesson.

“Chakras change all the time as people react to emotion and feelings but the colors of the aura stay the same,” says Dennison. “You are very in tune with yourself if your aura colors are matching your drawing.”

It is believed that when a person’s Chakras are open, it makes them more sensitive and it invites vagrant spirits, which are drawn to the light that is made visible to them. Attendees were taught how to open and close their Chakras to better protect themselves from having this happen.

Dennison and Furlong have been holding similar workshops in all areas of Canada, thanks to their school, Feathers Academy. Participants have all stated to be very satisfied with the whole experience, and feel that they gain valuable knowledge after attending these workshops.
