common psychic scams
CBS News recently reported "a majority of Americans - 57% believe in psychic phenomena such as ESP, telepathy or experiences that can't be explained"
These believers are not alone. Dale Graf, a 30 year veteran physicist with the Department of Defense worked on the Stargate program. The Stargate program looked at the psychic ability known as remote viewing. Remote viewing is the ability that some people have to describe a remote area, even one that is thousands of miles away.
Graf said he worked on the project for 30 years during his interview on Larry King Live. "It exists. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't. But it's there and it is real, and it cannot be shoveled away by skeptics."
The biggest skeptic has to be "The Amazing Randi" who has a standing offer of $1,000,000 for anyone who can prove under laboratory conditions that they have real, psychic powers. So far no one has claimed the prize. Another skeptic, Leon Jaroff called psychics "a motley collection of mystics, charlatans, hoaxers and smooth con artists who have successfully buffaloed a good portion of the public into believing they have supernatural powers." in the Dec. 27, 2001 issue of Time magazine
Here are some common psychic scam tricks and how they work.
The Curse
This involves playing on peoples fears or used to con people in a fragile emotional state. This tactic is not only unethical its illegal. The scam begins with them seeing a curse or a "darkness." This can also be the beginnings of a disease. Of course the psychic can cure both of these ... for a fee.
Curse Removal
Once the psychic has you believing that there are several curses on you they will require you to buy special candles, prayer cards or crystals. Typically these run about $150-$200!
The Cursed Egg
This is an old one that has been used for centuries. You're asked to bring in egg to their next reading. With a little parlor magic they switch the egg with you noticing. Then they crack the egg open only to find blood, or a slug in it! Gross!
Then they go on to tell you that the curse is worse than they thought. Then they tell you to carry $100's of dollars on you all the time. Eventually the psychic will tell you the money is cursed. They immediately take the money from you, and with some more parlor magic they pretend to tear it up.
Aggressive
When the fake psychic want to go for the really big money they will taunt, yell or threaten you if necessary. Sometimes they have someone else in the room to team up on you. Most of the time this is a family member, like the mom & daughter team that got me for $2200.
Most importantly don't be a victim. I can empathize with you, you need answers, I've been there too but don't believe in what you know isn't true. Find a psychic that helps you on your path and doesn't lie to you just to make a quick buck.

Each Psychic undergoes rigorous testing and certification before Psychic Source will let them give readings. #2 - LivePersonLivePerson is a completely online psychic chat network. Unlike the other psychics I reviewed, LivePerson does not do telephone psychic readings. They are the only psychic network to do completely online readings. I like the fact that everything is written down in my chat log, it lets me go back and read the advice the psychic gave me if I want. Some of the Psychics at Live Person, like David James are pretty famous, being featured on radio programs, television shows and more. With LivePerson just about anyone can join and be a psychic so you have to pay close attention to the comments other customers have left, but every psychic I have chatted with through LivePerson has been an authentic psychic. Psychics get to choose how much they want to charge, so I have seen some psychics charge up to $20 a minute, although these same psychics have extremely high feedback ratings so their customers must feel like its worth it. Most psychics charge anywhere from $1.00 to $3.00 per minute which I think is very fair.
