Accused Psychic Scammer Reaches Out To Celebrities For Help

Fort Lauderdale, FL- A family of supposed “psychics” living in Florida are attempting to raise money to pay for their legal defenses after being accused of running a $40 million scam via Twitter. According to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, Rose Marks, the head of the Marks family group of psychics, is asking celebrities for help through Twitter.

Marks has contacted several stars, including Kim Kardashian, Paris Hilton, Joel Osteen, Suze Orman, Donald Trump, and Oprah Winfrey. She’s asking them for donations towards the significant legal finances they face to defend themselves.

In an interview last Wednesday, Marks told reporters that she hopes the celebrities will help her family pay their legal fees. In addition, she’s asking for help paying their current living expenses. The family has been unable to work as psychics ever since their scams were exposed.

“I haven’t got anything… nothing yet, but I’m working on it. I’m trying. I don’t know any other way [to raise money],” Marks said.

Prosecutors are accusing her and nine other family members of preying on customers at their psychic services business in Fort Lauderdale and defrauding them of $40 million. As a result, authorities arrested them, and they now face federal charges. The federal charges state that Marks and her family repeatedly lied to their clients.

Allegedly, they made their victims believe they had curses placed on them. They claimed the power to remove curses, chase away evil spirits, predict the future, and, last but not least- cure various diseases. The family took their victim’s money, jewelry, and other valuable items they owned as payment.

Fortunately, pending their case, the authorities have banned the Marks family from working as spiritual healers, fortune-tellers, psychics, etc. Read Members Of Marks Family Plead Guilty To Stealing $25 Million In Fraudulent Psychic Scheme, and Jury Finds Psychic Rose Marks Guilty In $25 Million Fraud Case for more on this family of scamming “psychics.”

This particular article really burns me up inside. This family of psychic frauds has stolen over $40 million from victims! Now their asking celebrities to help pay for their legal defense? How absurd! I hope they throw the book at these people.
