Candid Interview With Funny Man Arthur From Psychic Source

Hello Arthur, thanks for sitting down with us today.

Thank you, I’m glad to be here.

When did you discover you had psychic gifts?

Growing up, I didn’t know I was psychic, and I thought everyone saw the world the same way. I first realized something was going on in second grade. It was at a Catholic school. I remember sitting at my little school desk and hearing my teacher, Sister Jean, sobbing- except… she wasn’t. I knew not only why she was crying, but I also knew everything would be okay.

So, I took a deep breath and walked up to her desk without asking permission, which was a big no-no. When we locked eyes, and before she could scold me, I remember saying: “There’s no need to cry. Sister Marie is going to be okay. She’s going to be fine.” She looked down at me like I was Damien or something and told me to sit down. When I returned to my desk, Mother Superior started tapping the microphone of the PA system.

When she started to talk, I felt Sister Jean’s piercing eyes. Mother Superior asked for silence and prayers for Sister Marie, who had just been rushed to the hospital. Apparently, it was very serious, but she made a full recovery. Needless to say, that’s when I kind of realized I saw the world differently – that, and having Sister Jean sprinkle Holy Water on me while in line, genuflecting to the sound of her clicker.

I also remember horrifying my parents as a child when I’d start talking to strangers to tell them stuff I knew they needed to know. Those moments didn’t go over very well. I didn’t know I wasn’t supposed to do that kind of thing, at least in my family. Instances like that actually taught me to squash and not use “my gifts.” I didn’t understand my gifts until I graduated college.

How did you develop your gifts?

It’s like the old joke: “How do you get to Carnegie Hall? You practice!” But I have to say, I was lucky. I had help! I was a reporter for a national publication in New York City. Jeane Dixon was also connected to the publication, and we had a mutual friend. I was covering a story in Washington, DC, and the mutual friend, who also lived there, invited me to breakfast. She added: “Jeane wants to meet you.”

Meeting Jeane at breakfast was fascinating, to say the least. Afterward, she invited me to her townhouse, where we talked for five hours. She helped me to understand my world and that I wasn’t “crazy.” Over the next couple of years, she’d send notes of encouragement. Later, someone introduced me to a gifted psychic for The Royal Family, who took me under his wing.

Once I learned to read cards, a small oracle deck I still use today, I practiced non-stop by giving readings to friends and just about anyone who wanted a reading. It did more than hone my skills- it solidified my psychic ability. Additionally, I practiced and used the exercise techniques in the book “You Are Psychic” by Pete A. Sanders, Jr.

Was your family supportive of your decision to gift professional readings?

Friends, yes. Family, ah… no.

Why did you decide to partner with Psychic Source to give readings?

Honestly, I don’t think I had a choice… really. I knew of Psychic Source since they’ve been around since 1989, but not much more. Many years ago, I was watching television when a commercial for Psychic Source came on. It caught my eye, but I wasn’t really paying attention. The next day I was stuck in traffic, and while flipping through the stations, a commercial for Psychic Source was on just about every station.

The following day I turned on my computer, and there was an ad for Psychic Source. At first, I thought, “These guys really know how to market themselves,” but then I found myself stuck in traffic – again. The vanity plate on the car in front of me read: “JDPS,” which I took to mean Jeane Dixon, Psychic Source.” Okay, I got it!” After my initial call to the office, I liked that they tested me.

Also, everyone I spoke to during the “vetting process” was real, down-to-earth, and genuinely cared about the callers and their advisors. I saw firsthand that they are an ethical company and are not out to hire anyone claiming to be a psychic. It’s been a rewarding experience! The bottom line- they care.

Everyone who has had a reading with you knows you are a funny guy! Do you find humor helps you connect on a deeper level with your clients?

I can’t go through a day without wanting to laugh, and it has nothing to do with the meds – okay, just kidding. Yes. I find humor a wonderful thing. Most people calling are stressed out, uptight, in crisis mode, and “ready to jump.” They are so closed up it’s not even funny, ah, no pun. Get someone to laugh or smile, and the walls instantly come down.

I try to point out the humor in bad situations and uncover the irony of life. Perhaps the most extreme thing I’ve ever said to a caller was when she said she was done and wanted to jump. Luckily, she was not talking about physically jumping off the ledge. After a while, she said she’d given up and that nothing I said would change how she felt.

I couldn’t help myself: “Okay,” I told her. “I understand. But first, I need you to do me a huge favor. Before you jump, put the phone down – but don’t hang up; I get paid by the minute.” What I said was so absurd that she couldn’t stop laughing and crying. We got her off the ledge. However, there is a method to my madness.

Nothing works faster or is more dependable at putting the body and mind back into balance than a good laugh. Humor and laughter strengthen the immune system and boost energy. And while I am as serious as a heart attack regarding my predictions, the delivery makes all the difference. So, if you call asking about your boyfriend, don’t be surprised if I ask, “What’s the victim’s name?”

Which one of your gifts do you believe is the strongest?

Well, I can tell you which is NOT my strongest. I’m not a medium- I’m Medium Rare. I may see and talk to “them,” but I’m no “medium on tap” like the gifted medium on Psychic Source. That said, I’d have to say being an empath – picking up and feeling the emotions of others is my strongest. You know, kind of like being Deanna Troi from “Star Trek: The Next Generation.” Except you can’t drive a truck through my pupils.

Do you have a daily routine for strengthening those gifts?

The best routine for strengthening my gifts is to make sure I get enough sleep, eat right, and get some exercise. Taking my dog for long walks helps me to gain clarity and focus. Also, before I log on to do readings, I meditate and chant to release my ego from all readings.

What do you feel is your most triumphant achievement in this world?

That’s hard to say, but in all honesty, probably the most triumphant achievement in this world was acknowledging that I am a psychic and then changing my life and career path to follow the calling to help others.

What do you still hope to accomplish in this life?

To wake up breathing tomorrow would be a good start, and maybe tap dancing lessons. But really, to say I helped someone smile, empower and love themself. Basically, that I made someone’s life a little bit better – one reading at a time.

Thanks again for your time, Arthur. I hope to speak with you again in the future.
