Spirit Medium Who Uses Her Gift To Help Others Gets Reality Show

Even though Bonni McCliss prefers to be called a spirit medium instead of a “psychic,” she’s ok with the latter. McCliss is already a speaker and author who lives in Dickson, Tennessee. Now, she’s about to embark on the crazy world of television. A reality show based on her life is under wraps and produced by “big name” producers, whom she can’t name now.

McCliss has clients coming to her from all over the world, from Texas to Turkey. She started communicating with spirits at the young age of four. When her family learned what she was doing, they took her to the doctor out of concern. The doctors examined her but told her parents she just heard things. They didn’t find anything wrong with her, but they DID deem her “extremely intuitively gifted.”

33-year-old McCliss says that the word “psychic” makes her feel like they give her too much credit. She prefers “medium” since it doesn’t imply she can predict the future. “I’m really about helping people, so I’m not geared towards throwing it in people’s faces or making them uncomfortable- that’s the exact opposite of what I do. Once they get to know me, they could care less if you say psychic,” she says.

How does all this work? McCliss says it’s very simple- she uses her heightened intuition to receive information from “the other side” about her clients. That information allows her to understand their lives better and help them where needed. She refers to those she receives information from as either “spirit guides” or “angels.” Throughout her life, police have asked her to assist in missing children’s cases, and she always does those free of charge.

A Truly Talented Spirit Medium

“When I teach classes on spirit guides, I say that everyone has them, spirit guides, angels, all of that. People seem to be more OK with angels giving them messages,” says McCliss. She believes more in the outcome of the messages than how we refer to those sending us the messages. “I am very much an evidential psychic,” she says. “What that means is basically validating it your own life; don’t take my word for it. Watch it show up in your life. Watch these signs come to you,” she adds.

She tells us that although she can’t name them, many of her clients are big-name celebrities. They require her to sign a waiver stating that she will not name them. McCliss has done much work in New Orleans, well known for its “spirited” buildings. She’s also worked as a “ghostbuster” at Printer’s Alley in Nashville. She recently set up in a place that makes a lot of sense: “The jail in Charlotte is extremely haunted,” says McCliss.

“So, the mayor has let some paranormal people in there, but what happens is that if people don’t handle the situation correctly, gently, or politically, it burns the bridges.” The medium believes most people have these gifts but must learn to “get out of our own way.” “The kicker is, everybody has this ability. You can do things to train your mind,” she says. “A lot of it comes through mental training and meditation. They are here; it’s how much are we listening or how much are we picking up? A good psychic just learns how to get out of the way.”

What’s It Like To Have These Gifts?

McCliss is also a certified hypnotist, and she feels blessed that she can, at the client’s request, combine her psychic abilities into a hypnosis session. According to the medium, the basis of her reality show will be meeting people “where they are at” in their lives. “If you have spirits in your house or maybe children who are afraid, or maybe you want to connect with your mother, or maybe you are lost and don’t know what to do with your life,” she says

McCliss hesitates when asked what it feels like to contact the other side because she feels there’s no way to answer this question without sounding absurd. Her most transparent way to describe it is by referring to it as ‘tapping in and out of heaven.’ “When I tune in to do a psychic reading, I feel this kind of lightheadedness, and then it feels like something pulling in the middle of my forehead. Then I will start getting images, words, and feelings. I feel like I have just slipped out of this reality, but I have to stay grounded enough to talk to you,” she says.

People have asked her to visit several properties with a lot of historical significance. Many of these are in New Orleans, but some are in her hometown of Dickson. One example is the Clement Railroad Hotel Museum, which is very active. McCliss is available for medium readings, spiritual life coaching, and development and training between conducting workshops, retreats, and writing. Be on the lookout for her new television show!
