I’ve Been Scammed By A Psychic, What Should I Do Now?

Ok, first things first, don’t blame yourself. Too many people blame themselves, and it’s not your fault. Most psychics take advantage of people when they are at their most vulnerable. That is how the scam works. Unfortunately, I would know because I’ve been there.

Sadly the Internet is full of psychic scams, and I’m alerted to a new one at least twice a week. The first thing to remember is not to panic. You can undo just about everything but have to act quickly. So, put aside the “who is to blame” for a minute and roll up your sleeves so you can fix this problem.

What To Do Immediately

First, you must stop communicating in any way with the scam artist. You must do this! If you have to change your phone number, do it. If you’re still communicating with them, there is very little you can do. Cut it off no matter what sort of threats they make.

Cancel Any Form Of Payment That Hasn’t Cleared

If you gave them your credit card number, notify your bank to deny any charges from them. You want to try and recover as much money as you can. If they have your bank account information, social security number, or driver’s license number, you need to notify all of them that you’re a fraud victim. They can inform you of any suspicious activity and prevent the scam artist from cleaning you out!

Contact Your Local Police Department

Police

Give them as much information as you can. I did not call the police when I got scammed; please learn from my mistake. Most of the time, the police can file charges called “crimes of confidence.” Be sure to mention that phrase to the police. Sometimes the police won’t be able to help you immediately, but please file the report anyway. It may help someone else in the future or help the police put the scammer in jail for a long time when they finally catch them.

Contact The Internet Crime Complaints Center For Online Psychics

The United States Federal Bureau of Investigations operates the Internet Crime Complaints Center. You can submit a form to report the crime on their website. Tell them what happened, where you heard of the scammers’ website and any other information you can recall. Also, contact the Federal Trade Commission. If you don’t report it, other people could get scammed just like you. These are necessary steps that help bring these criminals to justice.

Don’t Blame Yourself!

its not your fault

Con artists are very good at what they do. It’s their “job,” after all. We occasionally need advice and understanding, but we can be too trusting. After all, giving people the benefit of the doubt is human nature. You had no idea they were going to take advantage of you. Once you’ve learned that you can’t trust a specific psychic, do everyone else a favor and leave them a review.

Search for psychic reviews online and leave negative feedback in as many places as possible. Sharing your experience helps others not fall victim to them. Not all psychics are scam artists. Most psychics genuinely want to help you on your journey through life, so keep searching for that psychic with who you can build a connection. For already reviewed and trustworthy psychics, click here or check out the box below.

  1. what about break up spells and love spells are they real?

    • Hi Joel. No spells are real. I’m sorry they just aren’t. People have a God given gift called Free Will. No spell or potion or words can make someone love you or make them love you again. Free will trumps everything.

  2. I am not certain what to think. I was told by a psychic today that I began absorbing negative energy in the womb and that in one of my past lives I was a man who dealt with black magic to be successful. I did not help “Omar who now causes me many problems. Crystals and candles for each year of my life are needed to clear and have “Omar” forgive me for what happened in a past life. Not certain whether or not to believe it but years ago I was in a forum with hundreds of people when Teresa of Teresa Communicates called on me. Said it was my father and he was an entity…Teresa apologized for what I had gone tbrough. People were wailing and screaming…i never knew what to think. This psychic believes that the entity was “Omar and not my father…that “Omar fooled them…help

    • Sounds like a scam to me Sharon, don’t fall for it. When you find a real Psychic you will realize all that stuff was just made up to steal your money.

  3. Why do all psychics bring about negative energy, and that they can help get rid of all the negative energy. I realized I got scammed, and I feel so disgusted now. Working with crystals? What does that have to do with getting rid of anything. Also, there is no such thing as a curse, correct? That someone knows everything I am up to?

    • Hi Ross,

Curses are something fake Psychics use to scare you out of your money. Sorry you fell for a scam but lesson learned. Real Psychics will never try and scare you.

  4. I was scammed out of my savings and into credit card debt by a psychic. I had words with her and now she is surrounding me and my husband with negativity. I was told this by another psychic. If I report her I am afraid she will do even more to harm us, What should I do?

Hello, psychic power network I have been scammed out of thousands over a period of several years. Nothing has come to fruition. Is there anyway that I can get my money back. Please give me a suggestion. I have reported them and nothing.

    • I Darmica,

I’m so sorry to hear that. One of the reasons I don’t recommend them is because they don’t have a solid money back guarantee. If the charges are recent you could contact your credit card company and see about filing a charge back.
